The Technology and Engineering development undertaken by the Total
Remote Control team has resulted in the creation of an integrated
Embedded Mobile Web Server which has been tested across a range
of platforms.
The development philosophy adopted has been to create
a highly sophisticated, but easily applied, system that allows both
wired and wireless M2M type applications to be brought to market
with a short development cycle and with limited engineering costs.
There are a number of extremely important issues
to be resolved when using Mobile Embedded Internet Technologies,
one of which relates to the type of IP address supplied on connection.
Service providers in the UK supply "non routable" IP addresses
(via a DHCP server using NAPT techniques) which means it is extremely
difficult to implement remote, mobile systems as servers. However,
TRC have developed a number of well tried and tested methodologies
to overcome these problems and can provide clients with an excellent
range of technology and business choices, depending on their needs
and applications.
The system is currently available as an embedded
monitoring and control device, based around a low cost microprocessor,
or as an embedded PC running a user application.
The microprocessor system is ideal
for low cost applications where LCD or LED interfaces are preffered
and the embedded PC option is perfect for high powered systems that
require full colour graphics displays. The embedded PC is available
either as a Windows XP or a Linux version.

The mobile communications technology used is either
GPRS or UMTS, depending on the application and we have developed
our technologies around both the SIEMENS and SAGEM product ranges.
